Willis Hebiland Crier created an aircondition system for a big printing house in Brooklyn New York in 1902. This system also reduced the temperature to low levels and also kept the humidity low in order to prevent curling the paper shapes and spreading ink while printing.
At 1906 Stuart W Cramer from North Carolina searched for a way to reduce the moistness in his textile factory. He combined moistness control and airing in order to keep the humidity in his factory at low levels Cramer was the first to use the term “AirConditioning” in his patent while others still used the term “Water Cooling” which was a regular procedure in textile factories
The first modern air conditioning system was installed at the royal Victoria hospital in north Ireland at 1915. This system used different types of toxic gases like ammonia and chlorometan, however terrible accidents occured when they leaked out
The American engineer Tomas Midgley was the first who used the gas called priaun which was later discovered as safer to use. Nowadays because of the damage that the priaun causes to the ozone layer the use of this gas is converted to a gas called furon.
The home use of airconditioning system started only at the end of the forties beginning of the fifties.
